Charlotte Lyles

Charlotte Lyles began attending Good Shepherd in 2003. Good Shepherd was first on a list of churches she planned to visit, as she had recently relocated to Naperville. At that time, the church was doing a sermon series on The Purpose Driven Life. The powerful messages delivered in the sermons, the friendliness of the congregation and the power of the Holy Spirit put an end to Charlotte’s search for a new church home, without visiting any other congregations. She became a member of Good Shepherd in 2004. You can usually find her at one of the Sanctuary services on Sunday mornings, where she frequently serves as lector and communion assistant. Charlotte is a part of Tuesday Morning Bible Study, where she leads a small group. She is also a member of the Theological Cohorts. In the past, Charlotte has also served as member of the Africa Mission Team, and she led a group when Rooted was rolled out to our congregation.

Charlotte spent the vast majority of her career in the pharmaceutical industry, and retired in 2105. As a retiree, Charlotte has enjoyed golfing, swimming, gardening, cooking, playing pickle ball, traveling, and volunteering. The volunteer activity that brought her the most joy was filling in at the front desk, so when the position became available, Charlotte felt God calling her to serve in this capacity.

While Charlotte doesn’t have any biological children, she has become “Mum” to three young ladies in Nairobi. She also enjoys being “Auntie Charlotte” to her twin goddaughters.
