Give the Gift of Hope

Gifts of Impact

In this season of giving, every act of generosity, big or small, becomes part of a greater story: God’s story of redemption, compassion, and joy. Let’s open our hearts and extend God’s love across the street and around the world. Together we can bring hope, joy, and light to those who need it most. Whether it’s a shoebox, critical supplies, a bag of food, or a simple gift, let’s make this season one that changes lives.
Operation Christmas Child | Final Collection November 23
Shoeboxes are now available! This beloved tradition is fun for all ages. Pick up your shoebox and fill it with toys, school supplies, and personal care items as a tangible expression of God's love. Completed boxes are distributed worldwide to children living in extreme poverty in over 100 countries. For most, it will be the only gift they receive. Each child is also provided with "The Greatest Gift" a colorful, child-friendly presentation of the Gospel in their native language. Now that is a gift with eternal impact! Return your shoebox by November 23rd.
Bridge Communities | Final Collection November 23 & 26
Each year at Thanksgiving we invite our Congregation to help stock the supply closet at Bridge Communities. Bridge Communities connects homeless and low-income
families to a better future through housing assistance and mentoring. These families are often headed by a single mom, many are victims of violence, abuse, and poverty.

Join us, as together we bless these families with personal care supplies. These suggested items are NOT typically covered by the WIC/SNAP card (food assistance)
which are a lifeline to families in need. Please bring with you to worship on Thanksgiving Eve (11/23 or 11/26) any of the following specific items:
  • Laundry Detergent—pods are preferred. Any brand or size.
  • Dishwashing Tablets—Any brand or size.
  • Toothpaste —Any brand or size.
  • Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Ziploc Baggies—Any brand or size.
  • Cleaning Products – Any brand or size.
Dupage Care Center Gifts For Seniors | Final Collection December 1
Help bring joy this holiday to residents ranging in age up to 98! Good Shepherd has adopted a list of 41 residents at DuPage Care Center where we serve monthly. Sign up for a specific resident and shop from their simple holiday wish lists.

Return your gift by December 1st or sooner! This act of generosity allows the receiver to see God's immeasurable love through us!  Look for one of our team members in the Narthex on Sunday mornings starting November 9th, or view the online list here.
Lutheran Social Services Gifts For Children In Foster Care | Final Collection December 8
Children living in the foster care system come from extremely difficult circumstances and often feel forgotten, especially during holiday time. We want to change that! Good Shepherd has adopted a list of 25 children from Lutheran Social Services to foster love in their hearts this Christmas! Select a child from our list, and shop for gifts on their wish list. Return your gifts by December 14 or sooner. In this season of
hope, join us in letting these children know they are seen, loved, and valued by God and us! Select a child to shop for HERE.
Cherish Watoto Kenya Christmas Essentials Meal Kit | Final Collection December 21
Join us in filling a bag of hope! In Nairobi, Kenya, 240 children we love at Cherish Watoto are finishing their school year. While about 60 live on campus, most return to families in nearby slums—many surviving on just $2 a day. During the
holiday break, countless children may go without a daily meal.
You can help close that gap. Each filled food bag provides a family with nourishment and reminds them they are seen, loved, and not forgotten.

Together, let’s share God’s love in a way that truly sustains life.
With just a few simple clicks you can gift a food bag for families in Nairobi.
  • Click on this LINK
  • Enter your donation amount. The suggested donation is $40 for a food bag for one student and $70 to provide a family-size food bag for the student's entire family.
  • In the memo line, click the drop-down box and select Holiday Food Bag.
  • Select your payment option and that’s it! You just helped give an impactful gift to feed a student and their family this Christmas.
