Matt Hougas is thrilled to be our new Facility Assistant. In this role, Matt  supports evening ministries by keeping the building secure, welcoming guests, and assisting with event and setup needs.

Matt brings eight years of experience in the building trades and a lifelong heart for serving in churches. Early in his journey, he spent a year living in staff housing and serving daily with Rockford First Church (now City First) in Rockford. A drummer for 15 years, Matt has a deep passion for worship and gospel music.

He and his wife, Cori, recently celebrated two years of marriage and are grateful to call Good Shepherd their church home and they're excited to share their gifts in support of our mission.
