Shepherd's Heart 9/12/25
Good Shepherd Family,
I want to share several important updates and invite you to take part in what’s ahead for our church:
Sunday, September 28 – Our final contemporary services will take place in the Worship Center. Since its opening in 2010, this space has hosted many meaningful moments of worship. Beginning in October, contemporary worship will move into the Activity Center so that the Worship Center can be prepared for the upcoming construction. Over the next few weeks, we’ll take time to thank God for what has taken place in this space and to look forward to the chapter ahead.
Sunday, October 19 – Our Congregational Council has unanimously approved the ordination of Elisabeth Lectka as a pastor at Good Shepherd. This is a milestone for Elisabeth and for our entire church family. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Leaders from LCMC and members of the wider community will join us, and I encourage every member of Good Shepherd to be present as we affirm this call together.
Wednesday, October 22 – Our next Good Shepherd Summit will begin at 5:30 p.m. This gathering will provide updates on building transitions, share a detailed timeline, and include a time of prayer and worship through a Liturgy of Changing Spaces. Your presence will be important as we walk through this season as one church.
Sunday, November 2 – We will begin a new teaching series, Forward Together. This series will help us celebrate what God has done through your generosity, dream about what’s ahead, and prayerfully consider how each of us is called to respond.
Finally, you’ll begin to notice our new logo appearing in communications and around the building. This refreshed identity reflects our commitment to being both rooted in tradition and open to transformation. It represents who we are as a Christ-centered community of belonging and connection.
